Middlesbrough extended their unbeaten run to eight Championship games with a hard-fought 3-2 win at Stoke City on Tuesday night. The victory, coming after a 1-0 success against Wolves last Saturday, keeps Boro second in the table with 21 points from 10 matches.
Head coach Kim Hellberg praised the team's mentality after they twice came from behind at the bet365 Stadium. He said the performance against a Stoke side that was unbeaten in six games was brilliant. Hellberg noted that after a tough game against Wolves, to then produce such a display on the road showed the squad is getting better and better.
The win was secured by a late goal from Neto Borges, completing a comeback that also featured strikes from Callum Brittain and Will Lankshear. Lankshear had also scored the only goal in the win over Wolves, taking his season tally to eight. The results have solidified Middlesbrough's position in the automatic promotion places, just two points behind leaders Swansea.
The team's recent form reads three wins and two draws from their last five outings.
Middlesbrough now turn their attention to a home fixture against Cardiff City this Saturday. Cardiff currently sit 18th in the Championship. The full schedule is available on our fixtures page.
