MIDDLESBROUGH are closing in on the signing of former Leeds United defender Sam Byram as the club's summer recruitment drive continues. The 32-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Leeds at the end of last season, will add depth and cover in the full-back positions.
What happened?
Byram was a fringe figure for Daniel Farke's side last term, but was still named in Leeds' Premier League squad on 18 occasions. He was linked with a return to his former club, Norwich City, earlier this summer, but Boro now appear to be in pole position to sign the defender.
