Middlesbrough FC's former boss Rob Edwards has been sacked by Wolves after just seven months in charge. Edwards, who left Boro in November 2025, won only five of his 30 games in all competitions. The 43-year-old was appointed as Wolves' head coach in mid-November 2025, replacing the outgoing manager. Edwards' assistants, Harry Watling and Paul Trollope, have also left the club. The switch from Boro to Wolves was met with widespread surprise among football observers, with many questioning Edwards' decision to leave a side second in the second tier for one that was eight points adrift of safety and rock bottom of the Premier League. In his time at Wolves, Edwards won just five of his 30 games in all competitions, losing 16, with Wanderers finishing bottom of the top-flight. Edwards, a boyhood Wolves fan and former player, had only joined Boro in the summer of 2025, signing a three-year deal. The club had initially rejected an approach from Wolves due to the fact that Edwards had only joined the club in the summer of 2025, before reluctantly agreeing for him to speak to the Midlanders.
