Middlesbrough has signed French defender Adilson Malanda on loan from Charlotte FC until the end of the 2025 season. Malanda has been a key player for Charlotte FC, starting all 27 matches and playing every minute in 2025. He has also been a reliable piece for Charlotte FC's backline, helping the team hold opponents scoreless 29 times across all competitions. Malanda joined Charlotte FC in 2022 and has featured 107 times for the team, making his Ligue 1 debut in December 2020 against Dijon. He has also played for Ligue 2 club Rodez AF and Nîmes Olympique. Malanda will join Middlesbrough following the MLS season and will be loaned back to Charlotte FC for the remainder of the 2025 season.
