Who's Missing from Middlesbrough's Squad Numbers?
Middlesbrough has released its squad numbers for the new season, but some key players are missing. Alex Bangura, a left-back, has not been allocated a number as he is available to leave this summer. Micah Hamilton, another player, is also missing from the list.
Why Are They Missing?
Bangura has been heavily disrupted by injuries and is well down the pecking order at left-back. He has a year left on his contract, but it seems unlikely that he will be staying at the club. Hamilton, on the other hand, has never really gotten going at Boro since joining two summers ago. He has been allowed to link up with other clubs on trial during pre-season to try and earn a move.
What's Next for Middlesbrough?
The club has signed Max Arfsten this summer, and Neto Borges has returned to the club after his Bristol City loan last term. Finn Munroe is also on the club's books, but he was set to go out on loan to Blackpool before picking up an injury in pre-season. Will Lankshear will wear the No.7 shirt this season, while Sebastian Berhalter has been handed the No.6 jersey.
